Our history
1951 – Birth
Our company was born in July 1951, when Dina Motors and the Mexican federal government approved the incorporation of the company Diesel Nacional, which was established in the municipality of Sahagún, Hidalgo. |
1952 – Alliance with FIAT
DINA signs its first manufacturing and assistance contracts with the Italian automaker FIAT. |
1961 – Long-distance buses
We started the assembly of the first foreign buses and medium trucks. The DINA Flexible, better known as “the jorobados”, is created. |
1965 – First semi-heavy
The DINA model 604G2 rear-engine semi-heavy unit is launched. |
1968 – DINA Olímpico
The model that would mark an era, the DINA Olímpico, was launched, taking its name from the 19th Olympic Games of the modern era that were held in Mexico. |
1973 – DINA-CASA Alliance
The Delfín model was born, which enjoyed great popularity and acceptance, became part of the historic Route 100 and, in addition to being sold in Mexico, was also exported to Latin American countries. |
1988 – New eras
Year in which the last DINA Olímpico was produced and in which the DINA Avante was born. |
1989
Production of the Avante model continues and the new Dorado model is integrated. |
1990 – DINA-MARCOPOLO Alliance
In the early 90s, the iconic Paradiso and Viaggio models were born, which were the kings of the road during the nineties. |
1997 – Proprietary technology
The F11, F12, and F14 models are launched. |
2001 – A new beginning
We started the design process of passenger units with a 100% DINA chassis and bodywork. |
2007 – New models
We created the first 5 vehicles using DINA bodywork, which were launched at the time through our own distribution network. |
2008 – Clean energies
We developed sustainable mobility solutions with the first natural gas unit, the Linner G. |
2009 – Trailers of Mexico
The DINA Brighter was born, an articulated vehicle with an aerodynamic design, high safety and performance features, unique in its kind, currently circulating in the country’s capital cities. |
2011 – 60 years
We celebrate six decades in the transportation industry in the country. |
2014 – BRT units
We innovated with new trolleybus units that feature the latest technology and are environmentally friendly. |
2015 – Electromobility
We developed and launched our Ridder E model, which is integrated into and part of the modernization of the public transportation system in Jalisco. |
2016 – DINA Mexico City
We participated in the renovation of the fleet of Mexico City’s passenger transportation network (RTP).
2018 – Safe harbor
Our Hustler model, an agile yard tractor that was widely accepted in U.S. seaports like Long Beach, was born and consolidated. An electric version was also developed. |
2019 – Anpact transportation Expo
We had a memorable and outstanding participation with a Mexican concept, where updates to the Silux and Picker models were presented. |
2021 – 70 years
We proudly celebrate our seventieth anniversary, having successfully navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. We announce our return to the cargo market. |
2023 – DINA evolution
A different year where we renewed and presented our flagship model, the DINA RUNNER AGUILA, and also unveiled our specialized vocational cargo vehicles. |
